The Society's Travel and Environment Committee has a wide remit focusing on travel and its environmental impact in Dulwich.
Its aim is to foster safe and healthy streets in Dulwich by:
(1) Advocating clean air
(2) Supporting improvements in public transport
(3) Considering the requirements of vulnerable road users (children, the elderly and the disabled)
(4) Developing safe active travel networks and reducing vehicle traffic
(5) Promoting low traffic neighbourhoods
We engage with statutory bodies such as Southwark and Lambeth Councils, Network Rail and Transport for London, and with other voluntary organisations, such as Living Streets and the London Cycling Campaign. Our meetings are regularly attended by councillors. We collaborate with local groups with similar objectives, including those concentrating on air quality, climate change and school travel.
