The Council is also aiming to deliver one hour free parking in 45 local shopping parades. This will affect the spaces in Dulwich Village (outside the pub and near Bartleys/Romeo Jones) together with the parking outside the shopping parade from SG Smith to Harold George (11 spaces). Both these areas will convert from unrestricted parking to one hour free parking. The proposal will also affect 12 spaces on Half Moon Lane shopping parade near Holmdene Avenue and 16 spaces near Stradella/Half Moon. In these latter cases it will convert the current 30 minutes parking to an hour. The proposed hours at all sites are 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. There will also be changes in Lordship Lane and Park Hall Road.

Based on the beneficial impact to shoppers and traders of the 30 min parking in Herne Hill, this plan should improve the availability of parking for short visits but may push commuter parking, particularly teachers, onto surrounding roads.
